i don't want to make another skincare routine update post because i haven't really changed much since my last post except doing retinol every second day + FINALLY FOUND NON CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE MOISTURISER THAT WORKS FOR ME 🙏🙏🙏+ drinking 3-4L water every day + eating 2 vitamin c tablets a day. the last two i started doing this month to ward off illness but some combination of these factors is giving me the nicest clearest skin i've had for agesssss so hopefully it lasts... anyway here is a review of some recently trialled beauty products:

rom&nd better than eyes n01 dry willow flower
i've been using the same etude house play colour eyes palette (in cherry blossom) for the past 5 years so i figured i should probably reduce my risk of eye infection and get a new eyeshadow palette, this is just a nice basic neutrals palette with three matte browns and a champagne shimmer which is literally all i use anyway. i think the shadows apply much more nicely than my 5 year old palette on account of not being 5 years old, they are more sheer than pigmented but that's what i prefer. the shimmer is almost a glitter really like it has visible glitter particles even though it has shimmer texture but it actually looks so much better than i thought it would... my everyday makeup routine is just brows + eyeliner + undereye highlight and i was previously using a very fine dior shimmer for the highlight but i didn't realise it looked that bad until i switched to this palette and was like wtf this slays so much more. basically i'm extremely happy with this purchase and i'm actually using all the shades so i think it's a good thing i bought a quad this time. not really sure if i can do a more dramatic look with this palette but i don't go out that much anyway so i'll cross that bridge when i get there lol.

clio prism highlighter duo #02 lavender voyage
was wanting to try out lavender blush/highlight for a while since apparently it has brightening properties and i also needed a new highlighter to replace my old son&park one which was also 5 years old. both highlighters in this palette are quite subtle, the lavender one is suuuuper fine and the rose/beige one is a bit sparklier due to bigger glitter particles but still pretty fine so the end result is not very blinding but that's ok with me as well. i wonder if i should invest in a highlight brush i literally just use my fingers but it's kinda annoying to do that with powder highlight...

white conc whitening body pack
i thought this was a lotion but turns out it's like... a face mask but for your body? i didn't realise you were supposed to rinse it off whkfjdkfkjkdjf i bought it in adelaide bc i forgot to pack body lotion and it was the smallest container of lotionesque substance i could find in w cosmetics and i couldn't be bothered to read the japanese on the packaging cause there was so much of it so i was like whoa omg it really does lighten hyperpigmentation so fast. No you stupid bitch that's just the layer of white cream sitting on top of your skin!!! anyway now that i've realised you're meant to wash it off the whitening effect is not so extreme, i don't think i've been using it long enough to see results yet. there is a very strong lemony smell but i think it's nice. probably wouldn't repurchase though. also white conc is a really funny name.

judydoll pretty blush powder #49
i actually got this to use as an eyeshadow because sometimes i want to use pink tones but not enough to get a whole pink/red palette and also packaging pretty, i don't usually wear blush because i enjoy looking like a zombie. but if i ever want a dusty rose colour blush i guess i have one too... it's a nice colour it has enough pigment to show up i don't really ask for much more from coloured powders. unrelatedly i heard the girlies are using combination hot pink + coral blush these days and i do have both shades in various powders so next time i feel like looking freshly alive i might try that.

maybelline fit me concealer #10 fair
i've entered my concealer era in niz's honour, it continues to shock me that concealer literally conceals and my skin looks sooooooo good even though i just be using my fingers to apply and sometimes setting with my innisfree matte blur pressed setting powder when i feel like putting in the effort. i didn't know concealer just looked like skin i thought you would be able to tell... i already said this on twitter but sorry for being men who don't know what it looks like when women wear makeup. like you mean you can just look like you have perfect skin for free??? or i guess for the price of the concealer... this whole time i was agonising over skincare trying to organically get raw perfect skin i didn't know you could just hack it like that!!! i am a little bit worried about the shade match because i don't know my undertone and the concealer looks very like... white person pink in the tube but it seems to blend invisibly into my face so i think it's fine. maybe. anyway i just use this to cover up pih and if i'm wearing eyeshadow i put a tiny bit at the inner + outer corners of my eye because a xiaohongshu girlie said to do that, i don't bother concealing my eyebags because like i said i enjoy looking like a zombie.

chanel rouge coco flash #116 easy
i got this as a gift and the shade is like... exactly the same as my lips which made me so confused putting it on and seeing absolutely zero difference like i thought there was no pigment in the lipstick i had to swatch it on my wrist to make sure it did have colour. so i guess it's kind of a pointless product and i might as well just use lip balm but i do feel very luxe using it so i will continue to do so.

shiseido water in lip balm sakura
yes i have a lip balm buying problem (guy who already has half a mini laneige lip mask + 1.5 full size ones + a tube lip balm) but this one is so prettyyyyy and lip balm is definitely the product i use most often so it's a justifiable purchase and tube lip balms are more convenient for when i'm going out and also i hate the tube lip balm i already have so i deserved to buy this. as a lip balm it works fine, what's more important to me is that it's cute!!

lovisia cinnamoroll lip gloss clear glitter
i don't even use lip gloss but what was i gonna do not buy cute cinnamoroll lip gloss??? honestly it is not very good at its job, the glitter is barely visible and the gloss is not very shiny or longwearing but i bought it for the packaging anyway so it doesn't matter. there's also a very sharply artificial berry scent but i personally love artificiality so i don't mind this either.

tocca stella eau de parfum
can't STAND citrus scents fake ass! *10 minutes later* me and the bestieee... idk i impulse bought this in adelaide because i thought it smelled soooo delicious juicy sweet oranges. i'm not even sure if it smells good on me but i personally enjoy smelling it and remembering delicious oranges i have eaten in the past.

la roche posay anthelios invisible fluid spf 50+
i'm on a quest to find a Sold In Australian Pharmacies sunscreen that won't break me out because i'm really worried my beloved asian sunscreens aren't strong enough to combat australian uv. i don't mind the milk consistency but i think this one has way too much alcohol in it like the smell is soooo strong, i only use it on my cheeks and i use my purito sunscreen on my t-zone. i'll probably trial avene or nivea next once this bottle runs out.

abib quick sunstick protection bar
bought this for easy sunscreen reapplication throughout the day even though i'm suspicious of the spf, i wipe down the surface between uses with an alcohol wipe because i'm worried about hygiene lmao i hope that isn't damaging the formula or anything. anyway it's not breaking me out but i don't know if it's actually doing anything, i think i might go for a sunscreen spray for reapplication purposes once i'm done with this one.

some by mi real care masks
i think i mentioned these in my last post but i really really like them and they are pretty cheap compared to the other masks i favour (dr jart soothing hydra solution + benton goodbye centella) so i wanted to mention them especially!!! my favourites so far are the aloe and snail ones but i also like the honey and aha/bha/pha ones.

illiyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream
i picked this up because a lot of people on r/asianbeauty mentioned this as their holy grail moisturiser and it's really affordable since the bottle is huge and i happened to see it at w cosmetics while browsing, but unfortunately it was not for me ): i was fine with the grainy texture but it wasn't really absorbing into my skin and i think it was breaking me out, so i repurposed it as a body lotion instead and on the bright side it's really working on my extremely dry legs. i vaguely remember a cosrx ceramide moisturiser i tried many years ago also didn't do anything for me so i think ceramide is probably not something i want as a primary ingredient in my moisturisers, i think my face might be too oily for it.

dr g red blemish clear soothing cream
MY NEWEST HOLY GRAIL my bank account is crying in relief over finding a cheaper alternative to moisture surge, truly centella never lets me down 🙏 i picked this up because it's like top3 moisturisers in the olive young rankings this year and meant to be really good for sensitive/breakout-prone skin. i love the gel texture, it's light but nicely hydrating and feels so good and soothing on the skin. i love this moisturiser so much i'm using it in both my night and morning routines now, i'm seriously so excited by this discovery i think i will try out some other products in the dr g range :')

even if i believed in fate

it would only be about meeting you
