currently i'm watching detective conan with beloved moch and it is soooo much fun (guy who loves spies, crime procedurals, people who are actually other people, and ongoing extensive shonen franchises from the 90s) and i might make a haptics and proxemics post once i've met all the relevant cast members. how can an anime have 1000+ episodes... but anyway here is a rundown of my favourite episodes from the first half! this is technically a belated media review post for july since well 500 episodes of anime i was not consuming anything else. or technically 490 eps because ep 491 is the start of a 14 ep arc and if i wait until we finish watching that then this will be my august media review post. general spoilers i guess:

EP 10: PRO SOCCER PLAYER BLACKMAIL CASE
kidnapping not murder but the resolution to this one was so 😢... the culprit's one-sided bitter jealousy rivalry feelings but the guy he hated so much truly thought of him as a dear friend all along... when he broke down into tears seeing his rival dedicate his goals that match to him w/o knowing he was the person who'd kidnapped his brother...

EP 11: MOONLIGHT SONATA MURDER CASE
love a music theory based murder! this one was SO sad, conan rushing into the fire to save the murderer but ultimately unable to stop him from committing suicide by burning to death just like his father </3 i was so touched when the murderer threw conan out of the window to save his life and played "thank you, little detective" in musical code on the piano as his dying message

EP 18: A JUNE BRIDE MURDER CASE
you ever hatch a scheme to seduce and then marry the daughter of the policeman who accidentally killed your mother in a car crash so you can kill her on your wedding day as revenge against her father but then it turns out she was actually your first love back when you were children but you'd forgotten and then it turned out she knew about your plot all along and that you were her first love who used to buy her lemon tea and so she willingly let herself be poisoned to atone for the pain her father caused you? so glad this one was a happily ever after in the end

EP 27-28: KOGORO'S CLASS REUNION MURDER CASE
heart touched by conan realising that it was important that mori solve this case on his own w/o conan's interference bc the victim and the killer were both his close friends... moch pointed out that mori's detective skills basically only kick in when it's people he knows which is kinda really sad

EP 39-40: WEALTHY DAUGHTER MURDER CASE
"i'm not saying i forgive her for her crime, but when someone dies, that means someone else is stricken with grief. even if i'm the only person grieving, that is more than enough." every episode random oneshot mob characters of the case will say some truly fucked up shit

EP 43: EDOGAWA CONAN KIDNAPPING CASE
i was so scared through this whole case and then it really was the funniest resolution ever, shinichi is shockingly well-adjusted considering he was raised by parents whose idea of a fun joke is to pretend to be the evil villain org out to murder shinichi and then stage his kidnapping. you know this is probably why he ""gets along"" with haibara so well he's used to being placed in mortal jeopardy for bonding experiences

EP 48-49: DIPLOMAT MURDER CASE
love a good locked room murder, LOVE HEIJI INTRODUCTION EP <3 and welcome back shinichi original flavour i missed him!!!! i feel like this ep was the last time i heard him say 真実はいつも一つ. also when the temporary undeaging was wearing off and he was desperately pleading with his body not to change back because he wanted to tell ran as his true self.... TEARS

EP 57-58: HOLMES FREAK MURDER CASE
heishin bro ur my whole world dynamic kicking in... heiji figuring out conan's identity i love to see it but also shinichi randomly divulging everything about his embroilment in mysterious criminal organisation and subsequent deaging to guy he's met twice is so funny when he won't even tell RAN

EP 76: CONAN VS KAITO KID
THE REASON I STARTED CONAN <3 welcome sweet prince... birth of a beautiful perfect narrativeparallels rivalry... also kaito illusioning into ran in his literal introduction episode he really wants in on shinran so bad lmfao

EP 77-78: DISTINGUISHED FAMILY'S CONSECUTIVE ACCIDENTAL DEATH CASE
this one was just really sad... great heishin bros moments but dc truly creates the most intricate web of motives and resentments for oneshot characters. i liked the callback to the moonlight sonata case and shinichi's inability to save the murderer still weighing so heavily on his mind... the explanation of shinichi's philosophy about a detective's responsibility to stop murderers from committing suicide as well was so good and i love that it's something that heiji absorbs and takes into consideration in future cases too

EP 81-82: KIDNAPPING OF A POPULAR ARTIST CASE
very cute detective boys action i enjoyed conan and ayumi swapping outfits

EP 114-114: SCUBA DIVING MURDER CASE
another randomly insane haptics and proxemics web constructed for oneshot characters honestly my heart was so touched by the girlbestfriends of it all... when your bff tries to murder you cause she's in love with your bf who is umm her stepbrother but you forgive her and decide to keep her attempted murder a secret because you consider it karma for kinda stringing your bf along and then you reconcile... <3

EP 118: NANIWA SERIAL MURDER CASE
welcome to kazuha my beloved!!! tokyo-osaka detectives ot4 polycule finally open for business, seriously obsessed with kazuha getting jealous over how much heiji was talking about 'kudo' to the point where she actually thought shinichi was some tokyo girl heiji was in love withrkdsjgksdfjgksjfd the first major sign of heiji's insane bros-before-hoes-ism and not the last... this is also the ep heiji echoes shinichi's Duty To Stop Murderers Committing Suicide philosophy, and the ep heiji lends shinichi the amulet kazuha gave him when they were children as a good luck charm (and ofc it saves shinichi's life)... and perfect heikazu dynamic of kazuha sobbing over heiji when she thinks he's dying -> heiji wakes up and yells at her to be quiet so he can sleep -> kazuha elbows him right in his gunshot wound and snaps back -> bicker bicker bicker. also the evidence in this case was soooooo fucking flimsy sdfkgjsdfjgsdkfjgs

EP 128: THE BLACK ORGANISATION 1 BILLION YEN ROBBERY CASE
teared up when conan went to masami(/akemi)'s apartment to try to stop her from going to see gin and vodka (to bargain for haibara's life) and she incapacitated him and he gasped out "don't go, if you go you'll die" and she just smiled sadly at him and said "thank you. i'm sorry, conan-kun" like at this point i didn't knowwww she was akemi and i was still like WHAT THE FUCK..?!? and then later she dies in his arms 😥 idk i find it very compelling when conan is unable to save everyone [guy who has only seen yugioh] it's just like yugioh

EP 129: THE GIRL FROM THE BLACK ORGANISATION AND THE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR MURDER CASE
MY PERFECT ONEPICKKKKKKK haibara ai introduced <333 her impeccable acting abilities... her effortless cool ya love interest who leans smirkingly against walls energy... her constant fucking with shinichi to keep him vigilant... the way she's responsible for shinichi's/her own deaging and being on the run from the black org... when she semi-ironically says that she thought shinichi would understand her since they're in exactly the same position and shinichi viciously rejects this premise (you don't even knowwww yet how much you are about to be workmarried).... WHEN SHE BROKE DOWN INTO TEARS AT THE END ASKING WHY SHINICHI COULDN'T SAVE HER SISTER my poor exkiller meow meow... also there were some cases or whatever

EP 132-134: MAGIC LOVER'S MURDER CASE
3 whole eps about internet stranger danger ctfu but the important part is KAITO showing up because shinichi was incapacitated and he thought shinichi might need a hand with solving the case.... most romantic rivalry everrr

my list of scariest conan eps has nearly no overlap with my list of fave conan eps but this one really was very good even though it was freaky as fuckkkk

EP 141-142: NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING LOCKED ROOM CASE
kazuran REAL i love ran's bestgirlisms overcoming kazuha's temper <3333 and they became girl best friends <3333333 also the postcredits scene where ran dresses kazuha in a couple outfit with heiji and heiji siblingzones her 😭😭😭 heikazu are SO clueless and resistant to admitting their feelings in anything less than a life-or-death situation god bless

EP 146-147: METROPOLITAN POLICE DETECTIVE LOVE STORY
I LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!! i love the tokyo police force love polygon... takagi and sato's beautiful blossoming romance >>>>>

EP 153-154: SONOKO'S DANGEROUS SUMMER STORY
conan is such a bitch for thinking that any boy showing interest in sonoko must have an ulterior motive smfh but i'm sooooo glad sonoko finally gets her perfect love interest... she has crazy unrealistic ideals of romance and makoto meets every single one of them!!! casually getting stabbed in the arm protecting her soooooooo romantic

EP 162: THE LOCKED ROOM IN THE SKY - KUDO SHINICHI'S FIRST CASE
this case was so enjoyable and ran and shinichi both looked so good

EP 166-168: TOTTORI SPIDER MANSION DEMON
the epic polycule realness in this case... kazuha being like kudo-kun better watch out cause if he doesn't come back soon and make a move on beautifullest perfectest ran-chan then I'M gonna steal her off him!!! creatively freaky murder style too or maybe that's just my arachnophobia speaking but i enjoyed the murder mystery a lot too

EP 172-173: REVIVAL OF THE DYING MESSAGE
people be leaving the most elaborate dying messages in conan lmao but the makosono and shinran parts of this case were so romantic TTTTT shinichi sending ran a special phone so he can communicate with her... T___T

EP 174: TWENTY YEAR OLD MURDEROUS INTENT - THE SYMPHONY SERIAL MURDER CASE
other than heishin being all bro you're my whole world as usual i think this was just a really solid and fun murder boat case

EP 176-178: REUNION WITH THE BLACK ORGANISATION
CONGRATULATIONS TO HAIBARA AND SHINICHI ON THE WORKMARRIAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omfg this one was soooooooooo good literally one of the best of the best, my heart touched beyond words over shinichi lending haibara his glasses and joking about the clark kentism i think the like wry but sincere ik-it's-futile-but-it's-all-we-can-do tone of it all so so perfect for the two of them.... and saving her from the burning building... and putting his jacket over her when she redeaged >___<

EP 188-193: THE DESPERATE REVIVAL
shinran.... shinran.... they are so in love... the breathtaking romance of literally everything going on in this from heiji and kazuha flying over from osaka to see shinichi after school so heishin can have a little d&m, to haibara pretending to defect back to the black org and threatening shinichi at gunpoint just to remind him how life-or-death their situations are and that he absolutely cannot tell ran his true identity, to heiji disguising himself as shinichi so he can help maintain conan's disguise, to haibara disguising herself as conan for the same reason, to SHINICHI SHOWING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCHOOL PLAYYYYY AND REUNITING WITH RANNNNN... shinichi taking ran on a date at the restaurant where his dad proposed to his mum T____T but then the temporary antidote wore off before he could tell her anything T____T and haibara was there in the aftermath the only one who Understands Completely T_____T also stealing someone's identity is the most romantic thing in the universe btw

EP 219: THE GATHERING OF THE DETECTIVES! KUDO SHINICHI VS KAITO KID
SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD SO GOOD shinkaishin rivalry is the most romantic thing ever it's literally so inherently romantic to be a detective and a phantom thief :''') enjoyed meeting aoko and akako and kaito in civiliansona properly!! love a good heist!! the murder mansion cluedo second half also really really fun, happy to finally get to know hakuba's british(sparkle emoji) ass and his pet hawk watson, also kaito the generous showing up again to help everyone out of the goodness of his heart

EP 222-224: AND THEN THERE WERE NO MERMAIDS
the 3parters are always a lot of fun!! i am happy when we get polycule ot4 cases!!! extremely blindingly romantic heikazu in this one TTTTT heiji and kazuha dangling off a cliff, heiji holding onto kazuha, kazuha stabs his hand to try and make him let her go so he can save himself but he won't let go TTTTTTTTT BECAUSE HE LOVES HER!!!!!!!! and classic heikazu postcredits scene where she worriedly checks his hand and there's no injury and he brushes it off and she's like well if i knew you'd heal that quickly i would have stabbed you harder!!! but ofc it was the other hand that was hurt TTTTTTTTTTT

EP 226-227: THE BATTLE GAME TRAP
i swear i'm not just picking out the cases that introduce my faves i actually do enjoy the cases in question but this one is jodie's intro ep, the battle game in question is like...? vr tech that lets you feel the hits from the fight in real life? [guy who has only seen yugioh] getting a lot of yugioh vibes from this

EP 230-231: THE MYSTERIOUS PASSENGER
these poor wannabe terrorists accidentally hijacking a bus with 2 undercover fbi agents, 2 deaged prodigies and 1 disguised professional assassin on board... also another stunningly romantic workmarrieds moment where haibara decides to stay on the bus to let herself be killed by the bomb blast because she doesn't want to keep endangering everyone around her since the black org is after her but then shinichi smashes through the window to save her and tells her not to run away from fate AGHHHHHHHHHHHH and he gets his blood on her and it's like an oath!!!

EP 233-234: EVIDENCE THAT DIDN'T DISAPPEAR
really great haibara content, she's soooo cute playing with the dogs >__< also she spends the whole ep reeling off even more disturbing laconic oneliners than she usually does since she was so shaken by the bus hijacking thing and the detective boys try very hard to cheer her up, which is also so cute

EP 238-239: THE 3 KS OF OSAKA
i love when it's real that we gonna go to osaka 😃 another epic ot4 episode, ran is the sweetest loveliest long distance but actually your missing bf is closer than you may think girlfriend ever T___T i like that shinichi's emotions started clouding his judgement in this case and i like that heiji knew how to cheer shinichi up at the end they really are bros so much :'')

EP 246-247: MYSTERY IN THE NET
notable for haibara swooning from heatstroke like a delicate victorian maiden, being bridal carried to the shade by ran, delivering a dispassionate metaphorical monologue about how she is an evil predatory shark and ran is a beautiful beloved dolphin to shinichi, but ultimately feeling so touched and inspired by ran's heroically idealistic outburst to the killer about how courage is about the strength to do what's right, not to take someone's life, that she finally opens her heart and introduces herself to ran who has been trying to befriend and take care of her ever since they met lmao. also includes an amazing conversation where ran worries that haibara doesn't like her and ayumi is like, "no, she definitely likes you! i overheard her discussing your child-bearing hips with conan!" which is likeksjdfgksj430932809EIoiureoiutoreoaisoidsfd NO COMMENT. but anyway i really really like that haibara cares about ran just like shinichi does >__< she knows exactly how hard it is for shinichi to keep lying to ran for her own safety but she's better than him at pushing down her emotions to get the objective done and so she makes sure they're both staying on track, they are truly the work marriedest ever!!!! shinran real true love shinshi real true workmarriage (also love but different love) it's very simple actually

EP 266-268: THE TRUTH BEHIND VALENTINE'S
it's literally true that valentines has killed more people than all the volcanoes on earth combined. the makosono and shinran in this case was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo heart touching TT makoto suddenly showing up and demanding that sonoko tell him which boy she's dating so he can make sure he's worthy of her bc he didn't actually realise the boy was HIM TTTTT and poor ran crying herself to sleep because shinichi is still away.... and waking up to a jacket blanket (placed by conan ofc) and a text signed off as DETECTIVE KID like hello lmfaoooo kaito's presence in shinran's relationship runs so deep

EP 277-278: ENGLISH TEACHER VS GREAT WESTERN DETECTIVE
you ever fly over to tokyo cause you heard your best bro's been feeling kinda down and accidentally stand up your girlfriend on a date that you planned in the process? heiji's bros-before-hoes-ism is such a disease

CUTEST SHINRANS EVER AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH also so many agenda seeds being planted in this case it's unreal... vermouth and ran.... akai's general existence... So much to think about. and ofc "you don't need a reason to save someone" TTTT ran is so pure of heart. love love love. image of shinichi bridal carrying ran in the rain i will always hold you in my heart

EP 301-302: PARADE OF MALICE AND SAINT
matsuda is way too handsome and charming to just be fodder for sato's tragic backstory 😭😭 i love police force adults romantic entanglements growing another dimension i love sato's trauma and attachment issues coming into play because her ex-almost died in comparison to how upbeat and forceful she usually is

EP 304: THE TREMBLING POLICE HEADQUARTERS - 12 MILLION HOSTAGES
TEARS. TEARS. TEARS. TEARS. everything... matsuda's bff dying in an explosion while on the phone with him, matsuda/sato personality clash sexual tension and sato expecting matsuda to mock her but he affirms her instead, matsuda calmly sacrificing himself to a bomb to save everyone else while sato could do nothing but watch, sato's terror that she's about to watch exactly the same chain of events play out with takagi as the victim, sato ordering takagi not to enter the bomb-rigged elevator and escalating into increasingly desperate pleading as she realises his sense of duty won't let him stand by and he won't listen to her, takagi bringing sato back from her grief-crazed attempt to murder the bomber, sato finally deleting the last message matsuda sent her because she's ready to move on even though she will never forget him... MY METROPOLITAN POLICE DETECTIVE LOVE STORYYYYY

EP 309-311: CONTACT WITH THE BLACK ORGANISATION
i enjoyed the tension and drama in this one i always love when the black org pop up, and also haibara figuring out exactly what shinichi and agasa have been up to wrt investigating black org leads behind her back, and also haibara being the one to find shinichi where he was hiding in the coin locker passed out from lack of oxygen. wow he would have died if not for the timely intervention of his one true work wife fr. also akai is here

EP 323-324: HATTORI HEIJI'S DESPERATE SITUATION
being beaten up is literally suchhhhhhhhhhhhhh a good look on heiji. also return of heikazu only being able to admit their feelings for each other when they are literally on the verge of death 😥

EP 329-330: A FRIENDSHIP THAT CAN'T BE BOUGHT
ayumi and haibara are soo sweet, love ayumi's cute determination to firstname haibara but being too intimidated by haibara's city girl coolness and maturity to make another attempt after her first try when they met <3 and haibara giving ayumi permission to ai-chan her but not letting the boys do the same kekeke

EP 333-334: THE SIMILAR PRINCESSES
love that there's a murder but obviously the MORE important thing is whether it was eri or yukiko who won their high school beauty queen contest. girl best friends are so good <3 were eri and yukiko not straight they would literally marry each other, they seriously want to blend their families so bad, i know they are already elaborately planning shinran's wedding

this case made me so nervous... and haibara my poor meow meow again :'( i like porsches tho

EP 345: HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCH WITH THE BLACK ORGANISATION - A DUAL MYSTERY ON A FULL MOON NIGHT
SO MUCH HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. i loveeeeeeeeeeeee this case so much not only does the murder slap but it has literally every haptic and proxemic imaginable i cannot even begin to describe it... MULTIPLE cases of identity theft as a love language heishin and shinshi are so perfect bros <333 vermouth is so sexy and the killer and i'm obsessed with all her dynamics and her fixation on self-sabotage i still cannot believe the lengths she went to in order to try and protect ran, HER ENEMY, because she loves ran so much... shooting at her own ally, begging ran to move aside so she can kill haibara without harming ran, CALLING HER ANGEL... girl... and her almost equal obsession/protectiveness/care for shinichi, vermouth knows shinran are her achilles heel and for some reason is gleefully leaning into it instead of eliminating the source of weakness. also the jodie akai vermouth haibara fbi x black org entanglement got me so eyes emoji

EP 356: KAITO KID'S MIRACULOUS MIDAIR WALK
you ever stage a heist complete with elaborate new magic trick just to bait your rival into coming over to see you again because you missed battling him so much?

EP 358-359: METROPOLITAN POLICE DETECTIVE LOVE STORY 5
sato and takagi finally go on a date!!!!! unfortunately derailed by stumbling into drug cartel and also the entire police department spying on them to sabotage themgfkdsjsdkjgskdfgskfdjg sato is so beloved by her coworkers ctfu. poor takagi losing the ring he was going to gift to sato... but amazingly romantic ending tho TTTTTT

EP 381-382: WHICH ONE'S DEDUCTION SHOW

EP 406-408: CONAN AND HEIJI'S DEDUCTION MAGIC
HOW CAN HEIJI BE SO STUPID AND CLUELESS he literally was about to confess to kazuha when they were being held hostage and now he's backslid in emotional awareness to HENCHMANZONING HER i've had enough

EP 425: BLACK IMPACT! THE MOMENT THE BLACK ORGANISATION REACHES OUT
black org ep so of course it slays, three entire new black org members introduced >:) i love workplace tension so much i'm so obsessed with the black org x fbi haptics web. vermouth was incredibly sxc in this ep also

EP 427-428: SUPER SECRET OF THE ROAD TO SCHOOL
the shinshi in this ep so true and real and workmarriage it is so romantic to be the same person fr... making their sarcastic quips at each other while unquestionably having e/o's backs ahhhhh. and icb it's real that yumi is so thick her ass gets stuck in tight spaceskjfdsgkjfdgs

EP 460: CLASS 1-B'S GREAT OPERATION
so cute >__< i don't often get gotten by the kids but this ep was really sweet!! kobayashi sensei is really nice...

EP 469-470: KAITO KID AND THE FOUR MASTERPIECES
sweet prince time!!! the murder and motive was kinda stupid as fuck in this one but i am happy when i see my kaito

EP 472-473: KUDO SHINICHI'S CHILDHOOD ADVENTURE
BABY SHINRAN SO CUTE AND SWEET T___T very glad shinichi got over his I'm Too Cool To Have Girl Osanananananananajimi stage ctfu. also amazing to discover that shinkai rivalry was inherited from their dads

EP 479: THREE DAYS WITH HATTORI HEIJI
firstly this episode title is incredible. secondly i love ot4!!! thirdly absolutely overjoyed to finally unlock the heihaku arm of 3/4組 they are so red oni blue oni narrative foils it's unreal... the personality clash men in men's business rivalry i ate delicious <3 and the fact that it started over heiji defending his best bro shinichi's honour even better. it's so funny how easy it is for hakuba to rile heiji up ctfu i love haterism <3

• main theme - no joke this is the most epic anime theme song i have ever heard it is seriously SUCHHH a banger
• showdown theme - this is the conan reveals awesome deduction to destroy bad guy music so i do sort of experience a pavlovian response since i associate it with murdertonin release but i think it is very good victory music regardless
• need not to know - sexy tension music
• kaito kid's manifesto - kaito's '00s hacker montage bgm slay
• kaito kid appears - i love how kaito gets this epic choir piece to herald his entrance it's like hilariously grand and dignified but also it works
• ai's theme - so beautiful and melancholy and perfect for miss haibara miyano sherry shiho ai
• mystery of the culprit - more sexy tension music
• the old castle's theme - even more sexy tension music
• critical situation - i love this one i associate it with tense black org moments it reminds me of a video essay on horror movie music i watched once that said the horror formula is low register instruments + high register instruments and nothing in the middle because nothing where there should be something is inherently terrifying
• ran's theme - gets used as a general romance / gentle nichijou theme but it's nice to listen to every time
• the great detective of the west - heiji's theme is also used for like any random comical nichijou / investigative moment but it slaps every time
• the culprit's hideout - idk why this isn't on spotify but i'm literally hearing this one in my sleep there's something weirdly catchy about it

literally can't believe we've spedrun 500 eps of conan in a little over a month it's truly been so fun!! i don't have the mental fortitude to ummmm make my own 5k post so i will be just commenting on urs and hoping that suffices... moonlight sonata case fucking shinichi up in later cases is literally sooo true so poignant so perfect of all cases.... and as guys who are musically inclined (to some degree) i agree that the music cases are always a little special (laughing so much at the perfect pitch dude in the stradivarius case oh so generously answering conan's question about the phone number tune before being carted off to jail... thank u mr perfect pitch the generous)

june bride murder case was literally soooo extreme like. ok damn. is it that serious or is it that serious but like forreal it was so wild + the proximity that ran and shinichi had to the victims like it was extra crazy....

mori's vestiges of detective skill eeking out when it's the people he knows who are at stake is literally like translates into them disguising themselves to kidnap him for fun / ostensibly demonstrate the dangers of staying in japan / trying to convince him to move to america like damn it's like they don't even know their own son!!

idk what happend but after a certain period time watching anime became impossible for me and unless i really like the show or am intrigued by it, i cannot sit still and watch it [cries in despair] so i get that, i really do TT well, there are around 1000+ chapters, and i think i left off around the 460thch mark lolll and i was so proud of myself for getting so far:')

all the ones you mentioned in being interested in overlap with mine. because i began Tokyo revengers in october 2021 and got up to ch42 or something but couldn't go on IDK WHY??? but takemichi was MY crybaby and he's such a pitifulprotag but is also just developing so i really liked that<3 also mikey and his brother's story line was INTERESTING!!! but the timelines and loops were really confusing and i did not Get it unforch :( but who knows, i might go back. i have 6 loves within animanga: 1. 7 deadly sins (it has some eyebrow rasing parts but it's That Good that i still love it. and most shounen animanga keep the Girls to a minimum but the Girls are THRIVING HERE<333) 2. Ouran High school host club ( i love haruhi and her wonderful traits and pathetic pining tamaki and his gang of pretty boys who are so much more than that, and i need a second season because i just am too Lazy to read the manga :*) 3. Saiki k (this one is purely for the laughs and how kusou gathers a harem just by existing TT poor op pinkieboy) 4. fairy tail (it was one of the first manga AND anime combo i ever finished so it has a place in my heart forever, ignoring whatever flaws the story has TT) 5. Tail of the Moon (really obscure and maybe you haven't heard of it, it has no anime that i'm aware of but it was really good at 15 volumes. incompetent ninja girl is given up on and is sent to go bear another ninja's kids but it OBVIOUSLY goes wrong and that's where the Girls come in *they fight and squabble but the tension >>>>* :3) 6. Fruits basket (read it in elementary and it was so GREAT. and i love tohru honda and her catboy kyo meowmeow ^^)

i've binged and read other animanga but these are just the ones i think about/watch/read frequently (i've re-read 7DS like over ten times HELP-) and i'm a tad bit embarrassed in revealing my past shonen anything obsession, name a popular shonen series and i've probably read it or dipped my toes into it loll. i'd list my shoujo preferences because i've basically watched/read all of them in existence and i'm NOT embarrassed about them at all<3<3 why would i be haha.

LMAO omg we have so much almost overlap in fandoms!! dw i fully understand and relate to dropping things halfway i definitely couldnt have gotten thru tenipuri or conan if i didnt have friends watching with me haha. yugioh is definitely a childhood love that never left me haha i started off watching the eng dub of the original when i was like five and then i got back into the series in 2016 with the spinoffs, like the premise of destroying/saving the world with card games is a little objectively silly but i love it... forever my favourite series despite its many storytelling flaws TT

i love tenipuri for like being soooo outlandish like its literally a superpowers shounen masquerading as sports i love the stupid amounts of powers and violence and psychological damage everyone is inflicting on e/o... the final boss villain of tenipuri is one of my favourite characters ever i love how he skirts the line between untouchable all-powerful god (esp since its how others view him) and fallible human boy who almost died from illness and had to claw his way back to the top, and im so obsessed with his relationship with his team TT spyxfamily is really just a fun slice of life for me i like spies and superpowers and assassins and elite private schools a lot so all the elements of the premise are super appealing to me!! omg tokrev is sooooo deeply sad to me i dont think about the time travel too much bc im bad at understanding plot but the character dynamics are soooo fucked up... mikey is my favourite and he reminds me a lot of a blend of my 2 favourite tenipuri characters actually (yukimura + kirihara). but the sheer amount of people dying when they are killed makes me so depressed 😭😭😭

I LOVEDDDDDDDD the girl best friends trio in furuba i always think about that really cute sleepover scene i luvv how much uo and hana love and look out for tohru who is too kind for her own good... kjfdsgkfdsjkfds its true that akito and shigure fit right into my character types i didnt realise i was that clockable 😭 but i love misery and angst and power dynamics <3 omg ive never actually seen either of the furuba animes (tho i listened to some of the radio drama bc the akito seiyuu is minagawa junko who is one of my faves + voiced ryoma from tenipuri and actually she was my mental fancast for akito while i was reading so i was so shocked to find out it was real!!) but icb rin wasnt in the original!!! my poor neigh neigh... omggggg yes momijis backstory was so sad but he was so so bright and lovely T__T everyone in the sohma family suffered so much...
